HUGE FILE AHEAD!

lol oh god this took me so long to do.

well, since i'm going to be drawing a helluva lot of Ratchet in mine and ~Serynzia's fan-comic, i wanted to try and get a good feel of Ratchet's head/ears. but not just that, i wanted to focus on his eyes a lot more than his ears.

when i'm drawing a character, i take my time to make sure the person's eyes are just the way i want them, because eyes, to me, are the most important part of the body. on a deeper note; when i'm drawing a certain expression, i want to be able to feel it myself, which is why i try really hard to make it look as if the character is feeling that exact emotion.

so, when it came to Ratchet, i wanted to explore a lot of emotions that he doesn't normally show, mainly to get used to his eyebrows...because they're so...bushy XD

some of these were inspired by certain things. for example: "Epiphany" was inspired by the scene in Jak 3 where they discover that the Precursors were Ottsels. you guys rember the whole "OH MY GOD D8" that Jak gave off, right? XD

"Guilt" is pretty self explanatory. i wanted to try and depict in my own style his expression in the scene in Tools Of Destruction when Ratchet thought Clank was gone forever.

"Sympathy" is also inspired by a scene in TOD, when Ratchet looks down at Clank after agreeing to head to Fastoon for the final battle.

"Afraid" is from the scene where Ratchet goes "We are SO screwed." near the end of TOD.

and lastly, "Frustrated" is when Ratchet was trying to bring Qwark back to his senses in Meridian City.

you'll have to excuse how Ratchet's head and ears constantly change sizes. this was part of the whole process, getting used to his anatomy, so there are mistakes strewn about everywhere lol

although i think, out of all the emotions i did here, "Love" has got to be my favorite. Talwyn must've said a flirty comment about him :P *shot*

i'll probably wind up doing one of these with the Smuggler as well. i've got a lot to catch up on XD;

anyway, feel free to use this as a reference sheet if any of you out there need it. so long as you don't fucking steal it and say you were the one who made it.
